Well nothing wrong with picture above. It's superb. And perhaps there are rocky planets with rings but we haven't found it/them yet. Space is really weird place (e.g. rocky planets orbiting pulsars). And however unlikely such occurrence maybe it's not entirely impossible. To be honest I would love to see one!
Thank you very much! I also think so, planetary rings are a really fascinating and cool looking thing AND really challenging to create in digital art. Imagine living on a planet that has rings - how cool would that look up in the sky!! At the beginning I found space arts were cool because of the visual possibilities you have. I mean, you can create nebulas in any color, planets in every size and all kinds of phenomenon you can think of. But as the years pass by thinking about all that stuff, I become more interested also in the scientific backgrounds. In what do we understand that is happening in space. Nowerdays I try to create ideas that make sense. So I am very thankfull for your tipp! The guys on the movie Interstellar did a great job there, visualizing what a black hole could look like. Did you see it?
